Our BOS Word of the Day is: Steal
Steal: to take (another person’s property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it.
This week, someone broke into my fashion closet–right up under my nose. I assumed it was a friendly thief–perhaps my older sister borrowing my clothes–but I was wrong. It’s ridiculous the things you don’t notice until their gone, right? Every morning, I riffle through my fashion closet to decide on a covet ensemble to wear. Expressing myself through multifaceted outfits brings me sheer joy –until now– suddenly one of my greatest joys turned my world instantaneously sour. Who knows when it actually occurred, but on this stark morning absolutely nothing fit –except my shoes! I was suddenly in need of a closet verification, but sadly the contents belonged to me. I frantically tried on several different outfits– finding one dreadful look I hated, but it must do.
And then the day gets worse–because this is what always happens, right?
- Forgot to pack my sons lunch
- Drove to the wrong building
- Arrived at the wrong meeting
- And the list of craziness continues..
By the end of the day, my joyous heart had flown the coop–not to mention– I felt like a failure. Now has this ever happened to you?
How do you stop a few bad moments from stealing your joy all day long? One word..
1. Be thankful and stop complaining
2. Recognize the issue and fix it
3. Go Help someone else..IMMEDIATLY
The minor problems I encountered were nothing compared to real problems in the world.
REAL PROBLEM -#BringBackOurGirls Minor Problem- Getting Dressed!
Philippians 2:14 -15 says “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
Remember- Joy is a HABIT, so wear your light well
BStyle Fashion Question of The Day
What goes with joy?
Jewels of course!
SEE the joy beaming from my face ? It looks good on everyone and tribal cuffs do too.
The Base Project is a socially-motivated fashion brand building a bridge between artisans in the developing world and the U.S. fashion market. They believe we should “wear our impact” fashionably while inspiring others. Finding quality hand-made affordable–not to mention–gorgeous gems that give back is still a rare discovery. But The Base Project has really hit a home run. I am sporting jewels from the Deadvlei Namib Desert and Skeleton collection– hand-carved from discarded water pipes–with designs inspired by animals, landscape and the rich history of Namibiato. My team tried to steal these gorgeous cuffs off my arm, but I ended up buying the cuffs to give away.
What makes these jewels so special?
1.They’re made with LOVE for others
2. They’re Creatively Up-cylced
3. They’re the perfect GIFT
