This weekend I caught up on some magazine reading and found this great article from one of my favorite Texan’s Brene Brown author of Darling Greatly in O Magazine. I think I am pretty daring.. I did try a mohawk for the first time in my life early this year… Pretty daring for me! While reading Brene’s interview I was really inspired by the quote she uses from Theodore Roosevelt
“It’s not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who era… And if he fails at least fails while daring greatly.” week I am inspired by the word change”
Our BOS word for the week is Change. What does change really mean to you?
Change- To cause to be different, to transform
The first change I am going to make is to start reading some of the magazines I already own.. I find myself buying a magazine because of the cover, but I always flip through them never reading the precious treasures inside.
What changes do you need to make in your life? Anything coming to mind?
Just like the seasons and fashion change , we must change too. When we are not happy with something in our lives why don’t we just change it? Normally because we are fearful that we don’t know how, or we are just fearful of the outcome. But do you really want to have a life led by fear?
Always saying, I wish I did this or I wish I did that.. Who wants to live a life that is the same thing day after day after day? We were created to create. To create we must make changes. Change is something we should embrace and not be fearful of. “You will never reach your destiny by thinking negative thoughts. When you first wake up in the morning, start saying,” I love my life. It is wonderful. I thank God for everything He has given me, says Joyce Meyer’s.”
Here are a few changes I have made this year.
- Moved to a place I never lived before
- Tried a mini mohawk( where most of my head was shaved) Very scary, exciting, and then back to scary again.. But in the end, I am so glad I did this and will probably try a mohawk again
- Started a new business
- Died my hair blondish myself( which I haven’t done in a really long time)
- Gave away the majority of my belongs to charities and people in need
- Traveling more than I did in 2012
You will do yourself a favor if you start thinking right thoughts so that you will also choose right acting. Sowing the right actions into your day will form new habits. As you begin to operate in those new habits, you will change in your character. And as your character changes, you will move into the destiny that God has for you. By God’s power you can live in newness of life.
