A few weeks ago I found myself in the beauty aisle of Walgreens trying to find a facial cleanser. There are so many choices it was actually alarming. Do you get the cleanser with salicylic acid, anti-aging, acne cleanser, pore reducing or the drugstore brand. The list of options was truly endless. Here are some of my favorite. Each cleanser was tried for at least a week and the bottom line is they all worked.
Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti- Aging Salicylic Acid Acne Cream Cleanser 5 ounces
Don’t let the name scare you!! Reading acne cleanser almost made me leave this product on the shelf, however the cleanser was very gentle. The bottle claims that it offers 7 anti-aging benefits in 1 daily cleanser with blemish control. Well sadly I got a blemish while using this product that has style not gone away.
Positives: I loved that it was cream based and left my skin feeling clean
Negatives: Only major negative was getting a blemish while using a blemish control cream.
Price: 8.99 from Walgreens
Tip Olay often has coupons and the Walgreens beauty clerk actually gave me one for free.
Laura Mercer Flawless Skin Face Polish 3.4 ounces This Face Polish is an effective scrub and cleanser that helps remove dead skin cells with purifying microbeads, while softening the skin.
Positives: This is a course scrub that leaves your skin smooth as a baby’s bottom. It was also my favorite out of the bunch. I really look forward to using this scrub everyday.
Negative: If you are not used to using a courser scrub you might be turn off by the roughness, however as soon as you rinse you will like the results of extremely smooth skin
Price: $30 from Sephora
LaMer Cleansing Foam 4.2 ounces
This gentle cleanser’s sea algae fibers, white pearl powders and exclusive Deconstructed Waters™ purify, cleanse and energize even the most delicate skin. Skin is refreshed and calmed for a brighter, healthy-looking complexion. …
Positves:You only need to apply a small amount and my face felt squeaky clean
Negatives: No real negatives except for the price of $65. Don’t get me wrong I have creams that cost $200 on my counter, but I feel $65 is steep for something that you put on your face and rinse off. If you have the budget then the LaMer Cleansing Foam is a great option.
Price: $65 from Neiman Marcus
Overall the biggest difference I notice in the cleanser was how many times I had to rinse to get all of the product off my face.
Olay needed a lot of rinsing and LaMer rinsed off immediately.
Tell me if you ever tried any of these products and which ones are your favorites?
