I had never heard of Hari Mari flip flops, but I am not a flip flop kind of gal. First of all they are flats and when you wear heels as often as I do, flats sometimes can be flat. I do have family members that love flip flops, they are beach babies, but for this fashionista flips flops are the last shoe I normally try on. Made for women & men, Hari Mari is a hue-driven and comfort-focused flip flop line, constructed with versatility in mind. The owners told me this and I continued to say,” I don’t wear flip flops.” The Dallas based company was started by flip flop fanatics Jeremy Stewart and Barrett Horton who searched for more colorful and comfortable flip flop designs with little success.
I met the husband and wife team and they immediately made me fell at ease. I even invited the wife to a private party to meet a former NYC Housewife Kelly Bensimon. They were both just so lovable, and passionate about their product. They continued to tell me how their flip flops were different and how each pair boasts rich and colorful designs. “When looking for a nice flip flop that offered a little more than your traditional brown or black look proved repeatedly unsuccessful, we decided to develop and create our own line,” says Stewart, Hari Mari’s founder.
“We designed Hari Maris to be crisp, timeless and super comfortable, creating a color-injected line for people on-the-go who want a quality-made flip flop as unique as themselves.”They protested that I could wear them year round, to yoga, and on-the-go, but I still wasn’t convinced. I finally just said ,” Look I don’t wear flip flops, maybe in the summer, but even then there is always a more stylish shoe than this little flip flop.” They looked stunned, but begged me to take a pair. I agreed to take a pair for myself & a coworker because I didn’t actually plan on using my pair. I DON’T WEAR FLIP FLOPS. I honestly thought they were nice, but a little crazy and really crazy when they told me the price.
Here’s the facts:

Overall Impression: I was BEYOND impressed. The flip flops are constructed in tandem with memory foam-lined toe pieces, firm arch supports and soft-squeeze mid-soles making Hari Mari flip flops FABULOUS. I have a heel injury and wearing Hari Mari flip flops made my foot feel so much better. I am now proudly sporting a boot, but I can’t wait to get back into my flip flops.
Along with their classic aesthetics, Hari Mari flip flops are made responsibly and built with sustainable hemp fibers, reprocessed foam and recycled rubber to reduce their overall environmental impact.I really hate retracting or eating my words, but I can say without a doubt that Hari Mari flip flops are the best flat shoes I have ever tried. There I said it, and now let’s move on. I literally wear them everywhere. I always thought flip flops would dress my outfits down, but theses actually compliment a lot of my outfits very well.
Whether I am wearing a short skirt or maxi dress. Look to the left. Here I am at the Big Rich Texas taping Red Carpet event in my Hari Mari’s and my KatyDidCollection Dress. You can’t see them but they are there. Additionally, Hari Mari is donating $3 for every pair of flip flops purchased to help kids with pediatric cancer secure treatments & medicines vital to their fight. Hari Mari currently partners with Cook Children’s Medical hospitals and looks to expand to additional hospitals and treatment centers in a variety of regions as the line & brand grow.
Hari Mari Shoes retail for $60 and are available at www.HariMari.com and select independent retailers. You can find them on Facebook
After speaking with a Hari Mari rep about the broken flip flop they said they stand by their product, and offer every customer a 1 -year warranty. You can mail in your shoes, or take them to back to the store.
Do you wear flip flops in the fall and have you tried Hari Mari? I want to know what to know your opinion.
The backstage of FLC was a MAD HOUSE. It looked like something out of a scene from NYC fashion week. Sure, it’s fun to look at clothes on the
runway, but the true fun and hard work of fashion shows happen backstage, with designers, stylists, models and make-up artists running around like mad to make it all look effortless and easy once it’s on the runway. I went behind the scenes at Fashion’s Living Canvas to sneak a peek before the show.
Hair and Make-Up
I had a make-up appointment with my favorite make-up artist Tiffiny Luong. I have organized charity fashion shows and modeled in a few, but the scene backstage was organized chaos. I found my seat between model Dawn Neufeld, model LeeAnne Locken and blogger Cynthia Smoot. I chatted with Dawn about life, pageants, and fashion.
Team Motives did a fantastic job on all the ladies and we looked gorgeous.”One team, one dream, shouted Tiffiny Luong.”
My first stop was Danh Ta for a peek at his collection. His collection was simply breathtaking.
Next: Red-I by Chelsea and her beautiful collection. Red-I-by Chelsea seems to bring out the DIVA in every women or man…

Fashion’s Living Canvas brought out a flock of fashion editors, stylists, models and fans flaunting their best and brightest outfits, shoes and attitudes like proud peacocks. I spotted celebrities, fashionistas, and Dallas notables. Here are some of the most fashionable moments from the crowd.
Another crazy Thursday in the fashion world of Big D. Other Thursday’s have been busier, but this Thursday was the most interesting. I met some of the most amazing and intriguing people. I have met and interviewed celebrities such as , Tyra Banks, Designer Carmen Marc Valvo, Mark Cuban, Dallas Cowboys Player Miles Austin, and First lady Michelle Obama. All unique and interesting, but this Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting some very down to earth and equally amazing people.
First up: Tiffiny Team Motives Interview: I traveled through loads of suburban traffic to interview the extraordinary Mrs. Tiffiny from
Motives by Loren Ridinger Tiffiny has worked with Lala Anthony, Ivanka Trump, Kim Kardashian, and many others. I can’t wait to bring all my readers the tips, tricks and story of Mrs Tiffiny.
Next up: Modern Luxury Men of Style @ Neiman Marcus Downtown Dallas- I stayed with Tiffiny from Team Motives a bit too long, and was running fashionable late. I spotted LeeAnne Locken, Hamilton Sneed, and Cynthia Smoot partying and eyeing the tuna tartar. I was surprised how many people where actually eating food. Thanks to Marjon Zabihi ( PR Manager for Neiman Marcus Downtown Dallas) for having some delicious bites. Although I enjoyed the luscious cocktails, a little bit of beef goes a long way.
While at the party I spotted the lovely Courtney Kerr, Allison Volk and crew, and many other friends. My favorite DJ was mixing the tunes and the crowd was simply stunning. Being a party that focused on men’s fashions I wanted my look to be men’s wear inspired. I contemplated all week on wearing a bow tie, tux, or dress. I finally settled on designer Ann Taylor with a twist.
While at the party I ran into the King of Bow Ties Edward Armah. I was just reading about his story in Neiman Marcus Daily last month. He is charming and funny. I love bow ties and have always been intrigued with their sexy yet classic look. “Don’t worry I have been showing men how to tie these all night, says Armah.” I felt like a cute playboy bunny after being outfitted by Mr. Edward’s with one of his signature four-way ties. Edward has worked with almost everyone in the business, and is now selling his ties online and at Neiman Marcus stores. I can’t wait to bring you more juicy details about this stylish man.
Anne Fontaine Highland Park, Dallas: Glam in the City- Who knew Highland Park Village was the place to be on a Thursday night? The patios were filled with hungry guests and parking was nearly impossible. The Anne Fontaine store was full of beautiful people with beautiful clothing. The store is a classic french store with hints black and white luxury. I felt as if I had just stepped into a Parisian boutique. The visual manager deserves an A for the beautiful styling of the store. Some pieces where pricey, but as I continue to look around I found options in every price range. Of course the store was closing, but I can’t go back for some power shopping!!!
Marquee Grill in Highland Park Village: Most Celebrity Chefs aren’t in their restaurant’s anymore. We want even mention that Top Chef finalist, who had a restaurant in Fort Worth, but was always in CALIFORNIA. I wonder how she’s doing? Seems Chef Tre Wilcox knows he needs to be in his restaurant. We caught up for a few minutes and then off to meet my party. I spotted Hamilton Sneed and friends, and thus the charity conversations began. Hamilton talks so much about his signature cocktail that I have been dying to try one. It was refreshing and delicious.
Back to Marquee Grill, I love the contrast between day and night at Marquee Grill. The main dining room is white and plush, and the bar is dark with a sexy atmosphere. My guest and I tried the buffalo sliders, sushi and the fries. I must admit I ate way too many fries. Whether you go for drinks or dinner, Marquee Grill is the perfect place for a night-cap.
